Black miner window I spent a good chunk of lockdown making this intricate panel, to be part of a touring exhibition celebrating the contribution of so many black miners in UK, including in Nottingham where I live. Also referencing the miners continuing to work around the world still today, often in dangerous conditions, to provide the commodities to fuel this world! This guy is a respected worker with responsibility for the blue pot of gunpowder in his hand. He represents people from 1950’s and 60’s leaving sunnier lands to make the trek over here. Here’s a video about making the black miner https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbYyjFYuyY0 Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Related Posted: 11th March 2021 by Stella Chadwick
